Inspired by the Eugene Ionesco's play “The Chairs”, the first Cena Expandida's project is a theatrical performance about two fundamental questions of the contemporary reality: belonging and community.
On the stage, we see a man and a woman in the 30 years old. He's an antissocial political activist who finds in the social midia the perfect tool to realize the biggest changes he always dreamed. She is an enthusiastic actress with the growing moment of popular discontent in the country. After some time apart, they meet again in a online social network when sharing invitations to a large protest aimed at a national revolution.
The play follows the organization of this uprising in the midst of their attempts to revive a passion permeated by the obstacles and advantages of virtual life. The story is told through the narrative hybridity - theater, audiovisual and internet - in a scenic area where the actors don't physically interact directly. Narrated in two different levels - the real and the virtual - the play reflects on man's relationship with their communication technologies.
This project was awarded with the Theatre Prize FUNARTE Myriam Muniz 2013 and premiered in October 2014 in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil.
